Derin Atay (Ph.D in Language Education, Boğaziçi University) is a professor in the Department of Foreign Language Education at Bahçeşehir University (BAU), Istanbul and she has been running the PhD program in ELT for four years. Previously she worked at the ELT department of Marmara University and held administrative positions for several years as the head of the ELT department and vice director of School of Foreign Languages. Her research interests include teacher research, culture in language education, pre- and in-service teacher education and critical thinking in education. She has authored numerous articles in indexed journals and book chapters and conducted teacher professional development seminars.
