Call for Papers

Welcome to International MELT 2019 Conference!
Marmara University School of Foreign Languages and English Language Teaching Department (Faculty of Education) welcome proposals for its international ELT conference.

By bringing together multiplicity of voices and experiences, this conference will provide valuable insights on teacher education and English language teaching across the globe, as well as opportunities for networking and collaborating with language professionals from different parts of the world.

Submissions are invited in but not limited to the following areas:

Proposals are invited for the following types of presentations:

Paper presentation: It discusses and describes work that the presenter is doing or has done in relation to theory or research. Research-based presentations are expected to be results-oriented and based on careful data collection and robust methodology. (Duration: 20 minutes, plus 10 minutes for questions and comments).
Workshop: It is an in-depth examination of an issue that draws on the experience and the knowledge of the participants in an interactive way. Proposals should clearly indicate the types of activities planned (i.e., hands-on, participatory) (Duration: 40 minutes).
Teaching practice presentation (TPP): It is a presentation on teaching-related designs, creative ideas or experiences (Duration: 10 minutes, plus 10 minutes for questions and comments).
Poster presentation: It enables participants to post their ideas, thoughts, materials, ongoing research on a notice board and answer questions or respond to comments from participants in a special session during the conference.
Poster guidelines
The poster title, author(s)'s name(s) and affiliation(s) should be placed at the top of the poster.

Poster Size

The poster should be in A1 paper size; 594 mm (~ 23 IN) in width and 841 cm (~ 33 IN) in height.

Poster Area

There is a designated location for poster presentations close to the conference rooms. Each display board will be identified by a poster number assigned to each poster according to the conference program. Poster presenters are responsible for mounting and removing their posters themselves. Equipment to fix the posters on the boards will be provided at the poster area.

Presentation Time

Posters will be available for viewing throughout the conference. Poster presenters are asked to mount their poster after registration and be available for discussion at their posters during the formal poster sessions. All delegates are encouraged to attend. There will be no audio-visual equipment for poster sessions.
